About the Development team
The Development team is part of the Innovations Department and is responsible for developing conceptual ideas into tangible products and services to serve our clients' needs. In other words: our engineers make it real and ready for operation! The Development team is a multidisciplinary team of 19 engineers, covering fields of Motion Control, Structural, Mechanical Design and Virtual Technology. Engineers are grouped in various project teams, to focus on delivering new solutions for our clients. In this role, you will report to the Motion Control Team Lead, and daily to your mentor and Project Manager.
Your role as Jr. Motion Control Engineer
As Jr. Motion Control Engineer, you will be the person who knows just how to get an Ampelmann system moving. You will be working on the concept, basic and detailed design of a system, its commissioning, testing (onshore and offshore) and aftercare. Software will be a big part of your job, but it won’t be all there is to it. You will also be responsible for selecting and sizing actuation, coming up with clever hardware solutions for the systems you design. The multidisciplinary project, on which you will be working, will require you to be flexible, communicative and proactive. As a Jr. Motion Control Engineer you will be part of a project team that focuses on electric system design.
Regular activities
Dynamic modeling and simulation to optimise designs
Detailed hardware design in collaboration with suppliers
Writing and implementation of system software
Commissioning and testing of new products, including providing operational support and troubleshooting on location
Provide aftercare support remotely (onshore, after offshore testing)
We ask
BSc or MSc degree in Mechatronics, Systems & Control, Mechanical,- Electrical,- or Aerospace engineering
0-2 years of work experience
Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
Preferred: proven experience (or courses) that indicate knowledge of interaction between hardware and software and/or actuation
Preferred: experience with Python
