About the Production & Assembly department
The Production & Assembly team is part of the Innovations Department and is responsible for transforming technical specifications into products that are certified, reliable, and of excellent quality. The team oversees the Production Facility in Rotterdam and ensures a safe and efficient working environment. As a Jr. Production Engineer, you will join the Production Engineering sub-team, which is composed by two team leads and several production engineers. This team focuses on production preparation, monitoring fabrication and assembly processes, and ensuring products meet all quality and certification standards for offshore operations. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including mechanics, suppliers, and project managers, to support smooth production and timely delivery.
Your role as Jr. Production Engineer
As a Jr. Production Engineer, you turn innovative designs into certified, high-quality products. You prepare production documentation, coordinate with suppliers and other internal stakeholders, and support the assembly team to ensure standards are met. You also provide input during early design stages to improve manufacturability and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. In this role, you report to one of the two Team Leads Production Engineering.
Regular activities
Prepare and review production documentation (technical specifications and drawings, assembly plans, etc.).
Plan and manage the entire process of purchasing, manufacturing, assembly and testing.
Manage multiple stakeholders to commit to your plan and share regular progress updates.
Be the gatekeeper of safety during production and ensure compliance with offshore certification and Ampelmann's quality standards.
Identify and follow up on potential design and process improvements.
We ask
BSc / Associate degree in Offshore, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field and 0-2 years of relevant work experience
Experience in reading 2D/3D technical drawings and familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor)
Basic knowledge of design and manufacturing (steel fabrication, hydraulics, electronics preferred)
Strong communication skills, eagerness to learn and take responsibility
Interest in project management
Fluency in English is required
