About the Business Development Asia Pacific (APAC) Team

The Business Development APAC team is part of our Business Development department, which is accountable for overall sales achievements worldwide and leads business development and client relationship management. The Business Development APAC team consists of two Business Developers and one Area Manager who are based in Singapore. You'll report to the Area Manager. You will work together towards regional targets that contribute to the global revenue and profits plans for Ampelmann. In addition to your regional team, you'll regularly connect with Business Development and Operations colleagues across the globe.

Your role as Senior Business Development Manager

In this senior business development role, you’re the driving force behind Ampelmann’s growth in your area. Next to your responsibility for a key client in the area, you spot promising leads in the region (with focus on Malaysia and Indonesia) and pursue them with strategic insight, always thinking from the client’s perspective. You build relationships from scratch, find the right decision-makers, and guide conversations toward signed contracts. Once the deal is closed, you stay involved, ensuring operational smooth execution and client satisfaction. You share market intelligence and maintain key external connections to stay ahead of industry developments. Your impact is felt across the region.

Regular activities

  • Managing our key account in Brunei by building rapport and developing the business further

  • Developing a sales strategy and realising sales targets in your specific region/market segments, with focus on Oil & Gas in Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia

  • Identifying and prioritising leads, and building strong relationships within the entire sales cycle

  • Reporting progress on your opportunities and projects via actionable Customer Visit Reports (CVRs) in our CRM system

  • Serving client needs by participating in tenders and creating fitting proposals

  • After closing a deal, continuing to work with the Operations department to ensure client needs are fully met over time

We ask

  • Preferred, BSc or MSc degree with a focus on either Business, Engineering and/or a maritime/offshore focused education.

  • Demonstrable experience of 10+ years within sales or business development roles in the offshore or maritime industry, managing major clients and their operations.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen and excellent negotiating and contracting skills

  • Office365 and CRM skills to meet the needs of this dynamic role

  • Willingness to travel
