About the Operations Control Centre (OCC) team

The OCC is part of our Operations department. The Operations department is responsible for making sure our global operation runs safely and efficiently. The OCC team ensures that all operations in the area are conducted safely and in full satisfaction of our clients. The OCC is split into two teams: one team providing first line support (the OCC Engineers, spread across the Netherlands, Brunei and the USA) and another team (Operations Support) providing second line support. This team currently consists out of four Technical Planners - of which two are based in the Netherlands and two in Brunei - and is looking for a new Team Lead.

In this role you will report to the Manager OCC.

Your role as Team Lead Technical Planning

As Team Lead Technical Planning you will manage the second line support team within the OCC. You lead, coach and manage a team of four Technical Planners. The job of a Technical Planner is to make sure that our Gangway Operators (who are deployed offshore) have access to all necessary information and tools to perform maintenance jobs to the Ampelmann system. Secondly, the Technical Planners support the Operations Project Managers and Maintenance Technicians with the preparation and execution of open tasks on the assets. As Team Lead, you ensure – together with your Technical Planners – that all Operations Support activities are executed in a timely manner and according to our quality standards.

You keep an overview of open work items, track metrics and create reports so you can keep all your stakeholders informed, both internal and external. You are also responsible for creating an environment in which the maintenance jobs are carried out safely and you identify risks and anomalies, which you escalate to management if necessary. Zooming out, you make sure the Operations Support process ties in with the larger OCC and Maintenance strategy and drive a mindset of continuous improvement, constantly looking for ways to improve work processes and optimize the use of the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365).

Regular activities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Operations Support team; e.g. leading stand-ups, monitoring progress of tasks, setting priorities, stepping in where necessary.
  • Execute the full performance management cycle with your team members: from regular 1-on-1s to setting OKRs and doing year-end appraisals.
  • Monitor and report on progress of team’s activities via dashboards and filtering in ERP system to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as regional Maintenance and Operations teams, Supply Chain Management and the ERP team.
  • Identify, develop and gather the resources necessary to continuously improve the team’s processes, services and safe execution of tasks.

We ask

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in engineering or technology (preferred) and > 5 years relevant working experience
  • Experience with, or motivated to, leading a global team
  • Experience with training, teaching and coaching of (more junior) team members
  • Good technical knowledge (e.g. understanding of hydraulics, electronics, mechanics)
  • Good understanding of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Excellent communications skills in English

You get

  • A great work environment with innovative and change-willing aspirations
  • High degree of responsibility and room to have significant impact
  • Monthly gross salary between EUR 3.860 and EUR 5.000 based on experience
  • Good secondary benefits (e.g. unlimited vacation days, annual bonus, Working from Home policy, non-contributory pension plan, and more)
  • Ampelmann Academy for all your personal and professional development needs
